Manchester United are reportedly set to announce the capture of Lukasz Bejger, with the club beating Manchester City to land the Lech Poznan wonderkid.
According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are finally set to announce the signing of Lukasz Bejger. United and their local rivals Manchester City were both involved in a grueling pursuit of the Lech Poznan wonderkid.
Manchester United had reportedly agreed a deal to sign Bejger a while ago in 2018. In fact, he had completed his move to the club in July after receiving international clearance. The details have ultimately been finalised, with the Red Devils now set to confirm the deal. Manchester City will be disappointed at having lost out on a young gem.
Lukasz Bejger is the latest star kid to emerge from the Lech Poznan youth setup. Bejger is a centre-back with the ability to also play on the right side of the defence.
The youngster never managed to make it to the senior squad at Lech before being pursued by the top brass of European football. That the player has already featured for Poland at the Under-16 level and also captained the side already reflects on the leader that he is touted to be.

Manchester United and Manchester City have been battling on the transfer market as well, and not just for first-team stars but for young players to add to their respective academy squads. The latest to be linked was Ronaldo Camara, who has been compared to Cristiano Ronaldo in his younger days.
The Red Devils have increased the intensity of their scouting system in Eastern Europe. United have also brought in Piotr Sadowski from Lech Poznan to strengthen their scouting network.
Their increased intensity in Eastern Europe has already seen Manchester United shortlisting Svetozar Markovic as a player to keep an eye on while also adding 15-year-old Slovakian star Martin Svidersky to their academy.
Lukasz Bejger would hope to become a regular within the Under-18 squad at Manchester United and in due time would look to become the first Polish outfield player to take the field for the United first-team.
