An imperious Manchester United side made it two wins out of two in the Champions League, beating CSKA Moscow 4-1 at the VEB Arena on Wednesday.
Manchester United, who had not won a single Champions League away game since November 2013, made short work of their Russian opponents as they coasted to a 4-1 win in Moscow on Wednesday.
In particular, Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku were delightful in their link up. Martial assisted each of Lukaku’s goals, who took his tally to 10 in nine for the Red Devils. The Frenchman grabbed a goal for himself in the 18th minute, before playing a key role in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s goal in the second half.
Meanwhile, David De Gea was denied a well deserved clean sheet as Konstantin Kuchaev grabbed a late consolation goal. In their defeat on Wednesday, CSKA Moscow conceded four goals at home for the first time ever, and Jose Mourinho was lauded for his side’s emphatic performance.
Credit to José Mourinho who has upped every player’s performance since taking over. Great competition in the squad. Not easy to achieve.

4-0 Mkhitarayn. I thought Mourinho always parked the bus away from home? ?

Isn’t José Mourinho’s football supposed to be boring?

Manchester United finally looks like a proper strong and cohesive side, Mourinho’s work is showing.

Meanwhile, Lukaku was the toast of the Manchester United supporters as he completed 10 goals from the club in just his ninth competitive appearance.

Lukaku has a terrible first touch. It keeps bouncing off him and into the net ?

10 in 9 games. My guy Lukaku

lukaku is on??
— Sam Jordan (@SamJord123456) September 27, 2017
I have to admit, Lukaku has exceeded all my expectations. I knew he’d be amongst the goals but I was thinking 1 in 2 sort of stats.

Lukaku , beast in the air. Beast on land.
He’s like a flying lion

What impressed me most about Romelu Lukaku tonight was his complete performance, not just his goals. Was superb in build up play.
— Adam Joseph (@AdamJosephSport) September 27, 2017
Haters were right about Lukaku’s first touch. Imagine how many times he would’ve hit someone in the crowd if the net hadn’t got in the way ?

David De Gea had the fans singing his praises as well as he made two stupendous saves in the first half.
I keep a fax machine near my bed just to remind myself to thank god that De Gea is still with us
— José (@MourinhoMindset) September 27, 2017
David de Gea is world-class through and through. Has nothing to do all game but can switch it on when he needs to. Amazing concentration.
— Liam Canning (@LiamPaulCanning) September 27, 2017
Is De Gea even a human being?

The hero on the night, though, was Martial, who played a part in each of the goals that Manchester United scored.
Anthony Martial has been directly involved in 5 of Man Utd’s last 6 goals:

Martial is displaying better form than his debut season, which is quite something.

Anthony Martial quite easily Man of the Match. One of his best performances in a Manchester United shirt. Unplayable tonight. So confident.
— Liam Canning (@LiamPaulCanning) September 27, 2017
Impossible not to rave about Anthony Martial tonight. He was completely unplayable, one of his most memorable performances.
