Chelsea target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has reportedly completed his Liverpool medical ahead of a £35 million move from Arsenal.
According to Sky Sports, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has all but completed his £35 million move from Arsenal. The player reportedly had his Liverpool medical on Wednesday evening and is set to join Jurgen Klopp & co., sensationally rejecting a better pay from Arsenal and Chelsea in the process.
For the better part of the last couple of days, The Ox was certain to be switching loyalties in London itself, with a move to defending Premier League champions Chelsea on the cards. However, a late twist saw the English international reject Chelsea.

There were reports that Antonio Conte had intended to bring Oxlade-Chamberlain in as an option for the wing-back area – a position Arsene Wenger has been playing the 24-year-old in, but a position which the Ox does not prefer being deployed at.
The Arsenal player wants to shift to a more central position and believes that Jurgen Klopp would field him at the heart of midfield – a thought or a promise that has seen the 24-year-old reject Chelsea and a better pay from both the champions and his current club Arsenal to instead choose Liverpool.
Indeed, Liverpool have a dearth of options in the central midfield. Jordan Henderson has struggled with injuries while Georginio Wijnaldum has been steady, but an upgrade on the Dutchman is needed. Emre Can, too, has been linked with a move to Juventus.
Naby Keita has been signed but will only join the squad next summer. And thus, for the present season, a player is needed to reinforce the central midfield. A loan move for Renato Sanches was being reported to be a potential solution. But, the Bayern Munich man is set to join Swansea on a season-long loan in a shock move.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has thus agreed to move to Liverpool in a £35 million move and the player conducted a medical at St. George’s Park as he is currently away on international duty with England. The move will come as another blow to Arsene Wenger.
The Frenchman’s Arsenal squad is falling apart. His English core has now faltered – Jack Wilshere has failed to live up to his potential, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is set for Liverpool, Kieran Gibbs has already joined West Brom – and Alexis Sanchez too, is looking to exit the club before the transfer window slams shut.
Wenger had urged The Ox to commit his future to Arsenal and the move would see the Gunners lose yet another wide attacking option as the season seems to be getting grimmer by the day for the Gooners.
