Chelsea and Juventus are among a host of top European clubs that are showing interest in Bordeaux’s highly-rated Brazilian forward Malcom.
French publication Le 10 Sport have claimed that Chelsea and Juventus are two of the numerous big European clubs who are showing interest in 19-year-old Malcom.
The Bordeaux striker has been impressive in his outings in Ligue 1 and is attracting interest from all across Europe, with clubs rumored to be eyeing a January transfer for the highly-rated forward.
Malcom is a highly-rated Brazilian youngster who arrived at Girondins Bordeaux in January, 2016 from Corinthians in a €5 million deal. The 19-year-old has slowly started to find his feet in Europe, and has notched up 3 goals and 1 assist in 18 league appearances.
Malcom can play all across the attack, with the right wing his preferred position. Numbers aside, the player has impressed with his work-rate and desire to contribute to his team’s cause, something which has been highlighted by Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec.
“When Malcom is good, the team is good too,” Jocelyn said, according to Tribal Football.
“He is a different player, serious, very comfortable technically and who sees the game very well. He is still young, he lacks experience and this brings inconsistency. Bordeaux need him at his best, because he has an incredible talent.”
As per the recent reports, the 19-year-old talent is attracting interest from the likes of Chelsea, Juventus, AS Roma, Inter Milan, Sevilla and AS Monaco.
Chelsea have been looking to add to their striking options, with Michy Batshuayi failing to impress since moving to Stamford Bridge in the summer. While the Blues have been linked mainly to midfielders after the departure of Oscar to China, Conte would not mind the addition of another forward among the ranks at Chelsea.
It remains to be seen if the 19-year-old is able to impress the interested parties enough for them to come in with an offer. But at his tender age, it might just be better for him to develop at Bordeaux for a season or two before thinking of moving to a bigger club.
