Jose Mourinho apparently walked back in to his post-match press conference to correct statistics provided by journalists after United’s stalemate with Liverpool at Anfield last night
This is amusingly similar to an incident last season, when former manager Louis van Gaal provided journalists with a dossier trying to dispel United’s long-ball tag.
Mourinho just came back into press conference room to say Sky/BBC's possession stats are wrong. "My guy did it – 42 [percent], not 35."

As reported by Manchester Evening News, Mourinho had already bristled at questions regarding United’s inferior possession statistics, saying :
“Liverpool had 14 shots on target and United had one. How many shots on target did Liverpool have today? Two? Two shots with 65 per cent of possession. You have to be critical of Liverpool, not of us, because 65 per cent and two shots, it is their problem, not our problem.”
Suffice to say, Twitter had a field day with the incident, and Mourinho’s general demeanour at the press conference :
@garystanfo @ianherbs i think mourinho already showing signs of losing the plot. coming back on the possession figures is small time.

Mourinho actually had a mini meltdown over a 7% difference in his side's possession stat. State of him

Good to see Mourinho making the story about him and the possession stat and not about the dull performance from his side ???
— Calum Anderson (@CalumAnderson__) October 17, 2016
Mourinho's stat man fell asleep with his head on the OUR BALL button.

One user pulled up a pretty damning statistic :
The lowest amount of possession Man United have had in the Premier League since 2003/04. Even by Mourinho's standards, that's impressive.
— Andy Ha (@_AndyHa) October 17, 2016
Others dismissed the fact that people were calling it a “Mourinho Masterclass” :
Imagine calling it a Mourinho masterclass when his team had 35% possession @DavidJonesSky
— Klopp (@BundesligaLFC) October 17, 2016
Now got to listen to the propaganda sky sports spew out telling us what a great result this is for Manchester United

"Mourinho masterclass"
If you think parking the bus & having 35% possession is a masterclass , you shouldn't watch football.

Did they just say a "Mourinho Masterclass", ah here…??? Utd's lowest ever possession stat, one 1/2 chance, and came for a point… #LIVMUN

No doubt Mourinho will criticise teams for 'parking the bus' at Old Trafford this season too

Whichever way you look at it, the reaction from Mourinho clearly shows that the United manager is feeling a little more pressure than he lets on. Worryingly, United are 2 points short of their total at the same stage last season. United fans – who were quite vocal with their frustration at Louis van Gaal’s dour playing style – will be hoping that things change sooner rather than later for the Red Devils.
