Chelsea put on a dominant display from start to finish to win their third straight game in the Premier League this season, courtesy of goals from Hazard, Willian and Victor Moses.
Chelsea managed a comfortable win against Sean Dyche’s men to maintain their 100% win record this season. Antonio Conte decided to leave out Cesc Fabregas, much to the dismay of some fans, raising questions about his future with only a few days to go in the transfer window. Hazard opened the scoring and Willian followed it up late in the first half to send Chelsea two goals to the good at half time.
Burnley did a much better job of defending in the second half, keeping Costa, Matic and Hazard quiet. Tom Heaton put up arguably his finest display of the season in the second half, making super saves to deny Costa and Hazard. Chelsea should have scored at least 5 or 6 in the game, and would have too, had it not been for Heaton. However, Conte’s late substitutions, Batshuayi, Moses and Pedro all came on with 10 minutes to spare and combined beautifully on a Chelsea counter attacking move, which was finished off by Moses.
Hazard opened the scoring with a stunning goal from 20 yards out, giving Heaton no chance with a superbly shot in the bottom right corner.

Already love watching Conte’s #CFC. Hazard’s goal is why. Hard work off the wall, then a sea of blue just swarming the Burnley defence.

Hazard’s officially back. #cfc

Splendid goal from Hazard. If you’re not going to pass the ball then you need to put it in the net from there
— Night King (@Omarvelli) August 27, 2016
There was equal praise showered on N’golo Kante, who is fast becoming a fan favourite with his energetic displays in the middle of the park.
Kante’s work rate is only rivaled by the auto correct on @ACM_Nicky phone

Such a joy to watch Kante controlling that midfield. Never seems to make the wrong decision.

Kante is just on a whole different level

Conte should basically say now: Give me Kante and 10 pieces of wood & I will win everything there is..he is that good…#CFC #CFCLive

Willian scored with a stunning effort late in the first half.

Willian is back??
— Renaldy Findianto (@renaldy_cfc) August 27, 2016
Chelsea taking advantage of Burnley’s narrow shape with long switches out to the wing (mainly Willian).
— Gareth Flitcroft (@GarethFlitcroft) August 27, 2016
“Willian was preferred to Pedro in this game”
Uhhhh, yeah
— Aaron (@abake6) August 27, 2016
Chelsea continued to dominate in the second half, with wave after wave of attack being absorbed by Burnley, and Tom Heaton making some superb saves to deny Costa.
Costa absolutely needs Cesc to score
— Willian Otieno (@WILLLANNO) August 27, 2016
Great game from Diego Costa. Unlucky in front of goal but did so much for his team-mates today.
— Chelsea HQ (@Chelsea_HQ) August 27, 2016
Costa bellowing like the fella on the market who has 300 bowls of apples still to flog before home time. Not sure the players are listening.
— Dan Levene (@danlevene) August 27, 2016
Hazard and Costa denied by Heaton and Burnley defence. should be 3,4,5,6,7 -0
— Chelsea Stats (@ChelseaStats) August 27, 2016
On another day, Costa could have had a hat-trick today. Thankfully it doesn’t matter too much with the current scoreline.
— Chelsea HQ (@Chelsea_HQ) August 27, 2016
Another unbelievable save from Heaton to deny Azpilicueta.
— Conteholic (@Conteholic) August 27, 2016
Heaton is the difference between a 3-0 loss or a 7-0 loss for Burnley today.

With only a few days remaining before the transfer window shuts, some fans were fearful of Fabregas’s future at the club. It was the third consecutive Premier League game where the Spaniard was left on the bench by Antonio Conte.
Dissappointed to see Fabregas kept on the bench so much but can’t argue with that performance ?? #CHEBUR
— Jon Banyard (@jon_banyard) August 27, 2016
Cesc Fabregas does not even feature…
— ChelsTransfer (@ChelsTransfer) August 27, 2016
ast game before the window shuts, and not a sniff for Fabregas… #justsaying
— Dan Levene (@danlevene) August 27, 2016
So much space on the left for Hazard, would help if we had a better passer in our four-man midfield. *cough* Fabregas *cough*
— Chelsea HQ (@Chelsea_HQ) August 27, 2016
@Tom97HD still a 100% record. Hazard back to his best. Also looks like fabregas will probably be moved out now
— Tom Bardsley (@bardsleyta) August 27, 2016
@l3ahpar i hope they don’t loan fabregas to vitesse.
— EC (@etiennecaesar) August 27, 2016
Fabregas would probably be more useful than matic #CFC
— Don Conte (@manan_ms) August 27, 2016
For the second game running, substitute Victor Moses got on the end of a superb Pedro cross to smash the ball into the roof of the net in a lightning quick counter attack display from Chelsea.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant! Batshuayi plays in Pedro who crosses superbly to find Moses. Textbook.
— Chelsea HQ (@Chelsea_HQ) August 27, 2016
Moses perfect player for this Chelsea squad. Not a starter, but ideal to come off the bench and play the supporting act.
— Garry Hayes (@garryhayes) August 27, 2016
After what has been a Biblical deluge from Chelsea, Moses appears.
