After ongoing speculation in the media, Schalke announced that their attacker Leroy Sane won’t be part of the training camp.
German side Schalke 04 announced via their Twitter handle that attacker Leroy Sane is currently having his medical in Manchester ahead of a proposed move to Premier League giants Manchester City. The 20-year-old is set to become manager Pep Guardiola’s fifth signing at the club.

The Citizens welcomed Sane with open arms on Twitter:
Sané will be a class signing for City especially under Guardiola’s tutelage. With the addition of Nolito, Sterling is really under threat.

That being said, securing Sané is a great bit of business from City. One of the most exciting players in the Bundesliga for quite some time.

Sane and Sterling = Black version of Ribery and Robben.

Leroy Sane is a really good signing for City. Its just how fast he can adapt to the Premier League.

While there were a few who were skeptical of the 20-year-old’s arrival at the Etihad:
Leroy Sane clouds that #MCFC midfield even further. Who will play? Feels like only KDB is nailed on. Sterling, Nolito, Silva, Sane rotated?

Leroy Sane is just a Raheem Sterling V2

Reckon Sane will start well but ultimately flop.. #mysticDan

City fans really overhyping Sane now he’s a good player talking like he’s on hazards level

Still, would have liked to have seen Sané play at Schalke for another season. Fear that he may not quite be ready for this kind of move…

Many fans saw him as an upgrade to City’s current crop of wide men (Raheem Sterling in particular):
Sane will bench Sterling indefinitely and I am very happy about that. Got a Robben-esque vibe about his play, cuts from right to left calmly

So Leroy Sane in Manchester for his city medical. Man City will be Lethal next season. He is basically an upgrade on Sterling #ProperWinger?

I’d much rather pay that amount for Leroy Sane than Sterling

Hopefully sane will give us what sterling was supposed to do.
trickery pace and good finishing— SilvaForTheWin (@21SilvaMagic) August 1, 2016
Sané to City. Gonna be so much better than Sterling.
