Arsenal ended their pre-season tour of the United States with a 3-1 win over Mexican side Chivas Guadalajara at the StubHub Centre in Carson, California.
Arsenal finished their US tour in style as goals from new signing Rob Holding, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Chuba Akpom gave the Gunners a 3-1 win over Mexican outfit Chivas Guadalajara. Arsene Wenger’s side romped to a 3-0 lead in the first hour of the game before Chivas got one back through a 74th minute Angel Zaldivar penalty.
Wenger seemed satisfied with his team’s performance after the win on Sunday night and reserved special praise for his younger players.
“It was an ideal game against a very determined Chivas,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the club’s official website. “Overall I think it was interesting for us because we needed to be patient as they started better than us. After 20 minutes we came into the game and we got a comfortable win in the end.
“It was very interesting to see some young players – we had a very young defence. Overall it was a positive experience for us.”
Arsenal goalscorer Oxlade-Chamberlain was also happy with his club’s pre-season form and took to Twitter to convey his feelings to his fans.
Good win tonight to finish the US tour. Thanks to all the fans out here for all the love ??… https://t.co/65g6yvdHSU

The Gooners took to Twitter to celebrate their club’s victory and to praise the players — especially ‘the Ox’, who continued his superb pre-season form, and young striker Chuba Akpom.
GOAL! 2-0. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been a standout for Arsenal in pre-season and he’s just scored a pearler, even better than in Lens

While there were mainly positive tweets about the result and the form of the team, some fans pointed out the potential negative impacts of the result.
I want Ox to be like Theo in the pre-season & Messi in the regular season not vice versa as is normal

Chamberlain with two exceptional goals in pre season now. The year of the ox? Hopefully.

Holding scores so we won’t sign a CB
Ox scores so we won’t sign Mahrez
Akpom scoring so no new striker pic.twitter.com/CN71NCHptZ— Arsenal Photos (@LeArsenalEdits) August 1, 2016
If he can stay fit and have a run of 10x games starting on the right, the Ox will prove his worth. I have faith in him ??
