After Italy’s heart breaking loss to Germany on penalties in the quarter finals of the European Championships in France, Antonio Conte is set to take over at the helm for Chelsea FC, and the fans took the twitter to express their excitement.
Those who have followed Italy over the course of the European Championship would have surely noticed Antonio Conte’s passionate touchline antics which were often more exciting than the football on display. But Conte is as brilliant a tactician as he is passionate about the game.
His Italy side weren’t even expected to cross the group stages, with many calling this the weakest Italian tournament squad in this century. But Conte’s ability to use the players at his disposal has seen him lead the Azzurri into the quarter finals against all odds, with notable victories against highest ranked European side Belgium and defending champions Spain.
Before Conte took over at Italy, he transformed Juventus into a force to be reckoned with, taking a side that finished seventh in the previous season to the very top of the Serie A, and then defending their title two years continuously.
He laid the foundation for the current Juventus side that have just won the league for the fifth season straight. With Mourinho at Manchester United and Guardiola at Manchester City, the Blues have their own world class manager to be excited about, and Chelsea fans have been awaiting his arrival with bated breath since the announcement was made earlier this year.
Looking forward to Conte coming to the Premier League, I may like a Chelsea manager for the first time!!!

Watching Conte in the Euros has certainly made me more excited to see him than pre-Euros, but trying not to get too optimistic.

I honestly fear for Conte’s life having to cope with Ivanovic & Cahill’s ‘defending’ next season.

The fact that Conte brought on a player to miss a penalty means he’s the reverse Van Gaal. Might bode well for him in the EPL
