Juventus star Paulo Dybala is Real Madrid’s top priority for the summer, according to reports.
The 22 year old joined Juventus from Palermo last summer and has played a starring role in the Biaconeri’s title winning season. His performances this season have reignited the interest of many of Europe’s top clubs, including Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Prior to moving to Juventus, the young striker was chased by a number of clubs from all over Europe. Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United. Manchester City and PSG were also interested in in acquiring his services in the January transfer window.
Los Blancos are have made the Argentine international their top transfer targety for the upcoming transfer window, according to Mirror. Eduardo Inda, who is a journalist on Spanish television’s El Chiringuito, is reported to have said, “[Dybala] is number one on the list of possible signings for Real Madrid next season. He is interesting Barcelona, he’s interesting Real Madrid and he’s interesting PSG.” Inda also went on to say, “He’s not at the level of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi or Neymar but he’s on the next rung down and could break that top level.”
Justified interest
The widespread interest for the Argentine is justified, as it comes after a brilliant debut season at Juventus for Dybala. The Argentine has created a staggering 73 chances this term for his side. The next on that list is Paul Pogba, with 53. He has scored 23 goals in 45 appearances for the Biaconeri this term ,making the reported €32 million paid for him seem like a bargain. He has also registered 9 assist this term in the league alone. His Serie A tally of 19 goals is only second to fellow Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, who has 36.
With Morata’s departure this summer looking incresingly likely, Juventus are unlikely to let Dybala go without a fight. Any interested clubs could be asked to pay over double his purchase fee to lure him away from Turin.
A fantastic dribbler of the ball with a eye for goal, he was won many plaudits for his work rate and his willingness to get back into defensive positions. He can operate anywhere in attacking positions and has also been known to play as attacking midfielder. The young Dybala is expected to challenge for the Ballon D’or in the future along with the likes of Pogba and Neymar, Bale and Hazard and will be seen as a key player for Juventus in their quest for European supermacy.
