According to reports from Italy, 3 Premier League clubs are set to battle it out for Juventus and Italian international striker Simone Zaza.
Juventus have been linked with a number of world class talents over the past few months to add to their ranks. However, it seems unlikely that Simone Zaza will be a part of any future plans for Max Allegri’s side.
Zaza was never able to break into a starting lineup that consisted of Alvaro Morata, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala, and was mostly used as a substitute throughout his stay at Turin. However, he has delivered the goals when called upon, scoring 6 goals this season and according to Calciomercato.it (via Football-Italia), his performances for the Biaconeri have caught the attention of several Premier League clubs.
Zaza to the EPL
Those clubs include West Ham United, Southampton and Chelsea. West Ham will look to build on a fantastic season and try and push for a Champions League spot in the next one, while Southampton will also be looking to finish higher. Chelsea are looking to rebuild after a disastrous season and incoming manager Antonio Conte is familiar with Zaza, having coached him in the national team. Zaza would reportedly prefer a Champions League or at least a Europa League club. Chelsea will not be able to offer it, but Southampton and West Ham are still in with a chance to finish in European spots.
With the Euros coming up in France, Zaza’s vaulation could either rise or fall depending on what kind of a tournament he has. It is likely that Juventus will hold off any interest until after the tournament to put a proper price tag on the 24 year old.
Juventus have been linked with numerous names over the past window. Morata is likely to leave and Juventus will look to replace him with someone better. Cavani is the name that has been rumoured to come to Juventus this summer. With a team already consisting of Mandzukic and Dybala, it would be best for Zaza to look to ply his trade elsewhere, with a major part of his career still in front of him.
