Liverpool looked to have suffered a fatal blow when Villarreal scored in the dying stages of the first leg at El Madrigal, but the Reds’ response at Anfield was a true statement of their intent.
Liverpool routed their Spanish adversaries 3-0 to book their spot in the final of the Europa League, with Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino the stars of an outstanding performance.
