AC Milan could be lining up a move for Chelsea FC defender Branislav Ivanovic after the Serbian had a particularly bad season for the Blues this year.
.
Plagued by injuries and bad form, Ivanovic has arguably had his worst season at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea FC lingering at a lowly 14th spot on the Premier League table. However, the Serbian international has long been regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the Premier League, with his long range of crossing, and good physical defensive abilities.
But, with the recent bad performances, and advancing age, the Blues are reportedly not too keen to carry on with Ivanovic and that is something that AC Milan wants to capitalise on, in order to land the Serbian defender, according to the Daily Mirror.
Ivanovic could come cheaper than Milan can imagine
The Serbian international, who is set to turn 32 next month, has been valued at ai??i??17 million by Transfermarkt.com. However, he could come much cheaper than that, if AC Milan want to make a move for him in the January transfer window, as he just has six months left on his current contract.
Competition from arch-rivals
AC Milan’s perennial rivals Inter Milan are also said to be pursuing the signature of Ivanovic at the moment. However, if reports are to be believed, Inter Milan only want to sign him in the summer, when he could possibly be a free agent (if Chelsea FC do not give him a new contract). AC Milan though, want to pic their city-rivals to the Serbian defender by signing him in the January transfer window, according to reports.
