Liverpool FC host league leaders Leicester City knowing that anything but a win will be greeted with great disapproval from the Reds’ fanbase. The good news for manager Jurgen Klopp is the return of defensive duo of Dejan Lovren and Simon Mignolet.

The return of Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet will come as a big relief to the Reds’ faithfuls, who saw goalkeeper Bogdan commit hara-kiri against Watford, gifting them a lead early on with Liverpool failing to recover from it.

.

The loss of Martin Skrtel to a hamstring injury further aggravated the problem at the back, resulting in a 3-0 loss for Liverpool against Watford.

Skrtel out of six weeks

Speaking ahead of the game, manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed that defender Martin Skrtel will be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

“Martin Skrtel is not too good,” Klopp was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “It’s a hamstring, he needs time but we don’t know how long.”

Lovren, Mignolet back; Milner out

The manager went on to confirm the availability of Dejan Lovren as well as goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, but ruled out any chance of vice-captain James Milner taking any part in the game.

“Dejan Lovren is back in training and trained the last two days in a row so he is available. (Simon) Mignolet is training but (James) Milner has no chance. We have to wait one or two weeks,” Klopp added.

“I want to change the centre-backs sometimes because I want to, not because I have to. But we have had problems with injuries there.”

Liverpool FC take on Leicester City on Saturday, with their performance sheets thus far being vastly different from each other. While Liverpool FC have huffed and puffed on their way to 9th place in Christmas, Leicester City have blazed their way to the top of the table. The Reds’ last four games have all resulted in a failure to win and anything but a win will not be acceptable from this game, as the honeymoon period for Jurgen Klopp draws to a close.
