In a much-awaited clash, Arsenal FC host rivals Manchester City FC in the Premier League on Monday. While Arsenal will look to knock off the visitors and maintain second spot, Wenger’s side have a number of injury issues to deal with. However, one positive news could be the possible return of Alexis Sanchez who may recover in time.

If Aguero is City’s returning icon, Alexis Sanchez is the one for Arsenal. Wenger refused to confirm his inclusion, but hinted at a comeback for the Chilean.

Sanchez could return

Sanchez — as he always does — will bring a different dimension to Arsenal’s game, and it is no surprise that Wenger wants him fit and ready to face Man City.

“I believe that is normal that he wants to play. You want him to be keen to play. He respects all the decisions I make and that is what I want from him,” Wenger was quoted as saying by the club’s official website.

“It is not trust in a negative way. Some of them are so keen to forget that they have pain somewhere that they say they are alright when they are not. You know the players and their psychological profile, you take that into account, then you get scientific advice and you trust your gut as well and then you make a decision.”

Hoard of injury problems

Arsenal are faced by a number of injury issues at the moment. In midfield, Santiago Cazorla and Francis Coquelin will be absent, which means the onus is on Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey to control and dictate play. Upfront, Olivier Giroud has been in great form, but Wenger will hope to have Alexis Sanchez back for this crucial Premier League tie.
