Although they are in dire straits at the moments, Chelsea FC manager Jose Mourinho has implied that he would not be making any signings this summer transfer window.
The Portuguese, in fact, thinks that he has no right to ask the club for more signings in the January transfer window, in spite of a rather poor start to the season.
“If I ask for players, or if the club gives me a handful of players, it’s like taking the responsibility (away from) us and saying we need extra to reach our objectives,” Mourinho was quoted saying in BBC.
“I want to have the responsibility in my hands, I want the players to have the responsibility,” he continued. “I want the players to feel that I trust them and that I don’t need other players to reach the objectives.”
Chelsea FC have been in poor form this season, and have yet to win consecutive matches in the Premier League. In fact, they have lost seven out of their first 12 matches, and now hold the dubious record of having the worst ever start to a Premier League season by a defending champion.

Chelsea FC linked with a number of moves in January
The West London side have never been shy about spending a quid or two when it comes to getting the players they need to improve the team. Due to this horrific start to the season, Chelsea FC have been linked to a number of players in January.
With names like Edinson Cavani, Gonzalo Higuain and Jonathan Calleri, the number of players linked with a move to the Stamford Bridge seems to be growing every day. However, after these statements, it does not seem like the club will be going shopping in winter.
