Chelsea FC forward Radamel Falcao is confirmed to be out of action for a few weeks after suffering a muscular injury.
Chelsea FC welcome Dynamo Kyiv at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, as they look to ease some pressure with a victory in Matchday 4 of the UEFA Champions League. The Blues currently lie third in the group following their shock defeat against FC Porto on Matchday 2, but will look to win the match, as they hope to regain some control of their UEFA Champions League campaign.
Jose Mourinho may be having a disastrous season, but put up a brave front during the pre match press conference as he rebuffed various rumours. Though, Mourinho did add that most of his squad has recovered from their injuries, Radamel Falcao suffered a muscular injury.and has been confirmed to miss a few weeks. The Sky Sports . report quotes Mourinho as saying: “Today Falcao picked up an important muscular injury and he will be out for a few weeks.”
Ivanovic makes his return
Branislav Ivanovic had made the slot in the right-back position his own over the past few seasons, but his form, that saw him being talked up as the best right-back in the league last season, had deserted him soon after. Ivanovic had won Mourinhoa s trust to the extent that he was handed the captaina s armband despite his poor run of form. The timing of Ivanovica s injury coincided with his form reaching rock bottom, forcing Mourinho to shuffle his defensive lineup that had been uncharacteristically porous.
Ivanovic, who missed out on five matches due to injury, is said to have trained with the rest of the squad on Tuesday, and is likely to play some part during the later stages of the game, especially if Chelsea FC are leading by then.
