Fans React As The Gunners Climb To The Premier League Summit For The First Time Since February 2014

Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League for the first time since February, 2014 after a hard fought 2-1 win over Everton at the Emirates stadium on Saturday.

A 36th minute header from Olivier Giroud put Arsenal 1-0 up against the Toffees after a sublime cross from Mesut Ozil from the right edge of the box. The red hot Frenchman, who scored his 5th goal in 5 matches for club and country, was handed a berth in the Gunner’s starting lineup ahead of Theo Walcott.

Giroud’s French compatriot Laurent Koscielny doubled Arsenal’s lead two minutes later after heading in a Santi Cazorla free kick. Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard was culpable for both the headed goals scored by Arsenal.

Everton were given a glimmer of hope one minute from half time when Ross Barkley’s deflected effort off Gabriel cut the deficit to half. Both teams rattled the woodwork in the second half through Romelu Lukaku and Olivier Giroud.

But Arsene Wenger’s side eventually hung on to register their 5th consecutive win in all competitions and climb to the summit of the Premier League.

Here is how twitter reacted to the Gunner’s achievement:
