Anthony Martial Named Premier League Player Of The Month; Pochettino Wins Manager Gong

Manchester United teenage sensation Anthony Martial has been recognised for his sensational start by being named as the Premier League Player of the Month, whereas Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has won the best manager award.

There was a lot of skepticism when United signed Martial for 36m GBP, with the teenager still unproven. However, three goals in his first four Premier League games means the French international dispelled any doubts about his ability to cope with life at United.

Martial has not only scored the goals but the manner in which he has put them away shows the kind of composure the forward has despite being under pressure to perform following his mammoth transfer fee.

Manchester United travel to Everton next and will hope to bounce back from the defeat at the Emirates. Anthony Martial will play a key role if the Old Trafford outfit are to get a good result at Goodison Park.

Meanwhile, Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has won the manager of the month award after guiding the London outfit to three wins in four games, including a sensational 4-1 win over Manchester City.

.

“It’s a collective honour because we must recognize first our players, all coaching staff and the fans,a said the Tottenham manager on winning the award.

“It’s good not just for me but for the whole club. It’s very important. Okay it’s ‘manager of the month’ but we need to recognise all people involved in the team. The whole club deserve this award.

“It was a fantastic month for us that started at Sunderland, which was a big win, and afterwards Palace and Manchester City. The Sunderland win very important because, after many draws, the team played well but we needed to win, and it confirmed our way.

“Also, Palace were a team who played very well since the start of the season. It’s true that the headlines will be the win against Manchester City. After you beat them, it was exciting for all, but every victory was very important.”

Spurs take on Liverpool FC next, who will be hoping to put a stop to the fine run that Spurs are on now, especially given that they have the German Jurgen Klopp taking charge for the first time.
