Wales secured their spot in the tournament proper in France next summer after Israel’s defeat to Cyprus meant Chris Coleman’s side were guaranteed a place in the top two despite their 2-0 defeat to Bosnia & Herzegovina

Wales sealed qualification for a major international tournament for the first time since participating in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, after a remarkable qualification campaign spear-headed by Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale.

Chris Coleman’s men suffered their first defeat in qualification on Saturday to Bosnia & Herzegovina, but were guaranteed automatic qualification after Israel went down to Cyprus in Jerusalem.
