Former Manchester United Manager Sir Alex Ferguson Says Mourinho ‘Will Find A Solution’ To Chelsea FC Malaise

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has backed Chelsea FC boss Jos Mourinho to find a solution for the Blues’ terrible form this season.

After Chelsea FC won the Premier League so convincingly last season, no one would have predicted they would be sitting in the bottom half of the table two months into the 2015-2016 season. That is where the Blues find themselves however, and manager Jos Mourinho faces a challenge he has never experienced before in his career.

Legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson gave his opinion on the subject in a recent interview, backing Mourinho to find a solution and revealing that he has always admired the Portuguese’ teams because of their ability to play for their manager.

“He will find a solution” – Sir Alex Ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson sat down for an interview with ESPN FC recently, and was asked about the predicament Chelsea FC currently find themselves in. The former Manchester United manager backed Blues’ boss Jos Mourinho to find a solution, while opining that John Terry’s uncertain form this season has contributed to the team’s lack of consistency.

“He will find a solution,” Ferguson said. “It may take a few weeks, but you’ve got to remember, he’s lost his goalkeeper [Thibaut] Courtois, who’s a fantastic goalkeeper.”

“John Terry is in a little difficulty adjusting to his last season maybe, who knows — he played every game last season, the best central defender they’ve ever had — and he’s in a difficult time.

“So if the span of your team is not what it normally is, do you expect to get consistent results? I don’t think so.

“I think, knowing Jose Mourinho and the one thing I always admired about him and his team, they always play for him, they always try, so the ingredients are correct.”

Chelsea FC must attempt to follow in Manchester United’s footsteps and give their manager time

Although the Blues have been well below the level expected of them this season, Roman Abramovich must learn from the mistakes he has made in the past in sacking managers prematurely. Mourinho alluded to the fact that the message that has been sent out to the players because of this has been a negative one. It has allowed them to shy away from their responsibilities.

Chelsea FC must back their manager over the players now, and give him time to get things back on track. Having lost huge personalities in the dressing room in Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Petr A?ech over the past couple of seasons, the Blues are in a state of transition, and it seems as though the new crop of players are not yet ready to produce consistent performances on a consistent basis.

Mourinho has a rebuilding job on his hands over the next couple of seasons, and Chelsea FC are unlikely to find a better manager to oversee the transition. The club must follow in the footsteps of Manchester United and give the Portuguese the time he needs.
