Speaking after Arsenala s narrow win over Newcastle United, manager Arsene Wenger admitted that he was looking for a more goal-scorersa in a bid to improve the team. .

Wengera s side managed to see off a strong challenge posed by Newcastle, who according to the Frenchman, were looking to make the game a quite physicala .

As reported by the club website, Wenger expressed his satisfaction with the team for the manner in which they dealt with Newcastle United.

a I must say that Newcastle decided from the start to make the game quite physical and we had to keep our nerves and not become a little bit aggressive as well.a

You always want more and more goal-scorers

However, Wenger is likely to be concerned with Arsenala s lack of competence in front of the oppositiona s goal and admitted to being on the lookout for a more goal-scorersa before the end of the transfer window. As reported by Mirror, Wenger accepted that his side was not firing offensively.

a We have offensive potential but you always want more and more goalscorers.

We have not fired offensively, our finishing has not been clinical and we have to improve on that.”

While the manager impressed upon the need to improve their finishing, he also insisted that Arsenal wouldna t hesitate to procure new players in a bid to improve the team.

“We are open and we are in the transfer market. If we find an exceptional player in any sector, we will do it.

a At the moment I dona t know if something will happen or not.”

With very little time remaining in the transfer window, it will be interesting to see if Arsene Wenger is indeed able to sign a a goal-scorera as he looks to challenge for the Premier League title.
