. The 27-year-old has seen his role at Barcelona diminish of late with the success of the Messi-SuA?rez-Neymar trio and is reportedly open to a move to the Premier League, with Chelsea FC keen on the Spanish international

Barcelona winger Pedro – a key member of the team under Pep Guardiola – has gradually seen his role in the first team diminish with the signings of Neymar and Luis SuA?rez amongst others, and is reportedly open to a move away from the treble winners.

The Catalan giants completed the signing of Arda Turan from Atl tico Madrid earlier this month, a signing that potentially acts as another obstacle between Pedro and a place in the starting eleven.

The Spaniard was quoted by Madrid-based newspaper MARCA (via Goal UK) recently as saying, “I’m obviously in a tricky situation. We’ll see what’s best for everyone. I’m only thinking about relaxing and spending the next few days on holiday.”

According to Catalan newspaper SPORT, Pedro has now made the decision to leave Barcelona and is set for a move to the English capital. The report claims that the Spanish international made up his mind after a conversation with Blues’ boss Jos Mourinho and former team-mate Cesc F bregas.

If the reports are in fact accurate, the charm offensive would appear to suggest that Chelsea FC are really keen on the 27-year-old and see a major role for him in their squad for the coming season as they seek to defend their Premier League crown.

The financial aspect of any potential deal would not present a problem, with reports that Barcelona – out of respect for Pedro’s service to the club – agreed to lower his release clause to just a 30 million, which would help facilitate an easy exit from the club if his situation worsened.

With the Barcelona presidential elections scheduled for July 18, England’s Mail Online have claimed that Chelsea FC would have to wait until after that date to make an official move for Pedro, as the temporary board has been blocked from making transfers.

One way or another, with both clubs set to begin pre-season training this week, a resolution would seem to be on the horizon.
