Petr Cech says that he is aiming to help Arsenal FC end their eleven year wait for the Premier League title and “challenge the best in Europe” after completing his move from Chelsea FC.

The former Chelsea FC player signed a four-year contract worth a basic A?100,000 a week as per the Guardian . , and has told Arsenal FC’s official website that he will look to use his experience of winning four Premier League titles, one Champions League, Europa League, four FA Cups and three League Cups to help Arsenal become the champions of England, once again.

“I have a lot of personal motivation and ambition and the club definitely matches it,” he said. “It is an exciting time for me — it is a project where Arsenal fans and the club have been waiting for the Premier League title and this is a chance for me to bring my experience and my little extra to the team and we can possibly achieve that.”

He added: “I believe that the Premier League is the best league in the world and, having played in the Premier League for such a long time, it is to my advantage and I know what to expect.”

“To have an opportunity to continue in a team that has the motivation to challenge for the title and challenge the best teams was a challenge for me and I have to say that once I spoke to Arsene Wenger about the ambitions and motivations this club has, my decision was clear because I wanted to be a part of it.”

The former Chelsea FC man said that he is “as hungry as ever” and is optimistic Arsenal FC can also compete in the Champions League.

“I believe I will find a team that wants to be successful and wants to challenge the best in Europe,” he said. “It is an exciting project for me.”

It is ironic that since Cech swapped Rennes for Chelsea FC in 2004-2005 season, the Gunners have not won the league title, with the Czech stopper one of the key reasons in the early Roman Abramovic days for that to happen.
