Chelsea FC and Valencia are both interested in signing Partizan Belgrade winger Andrija Zivkovic, according to his agent.
Andrija Zivkovic is considered to be one of the most talented young wingers in Europe currently and the 18-year-old announced his arrival on the big stage when he helped Serbia lift the FIFA U-20 World Cup last week. Zivkovic scored a wonderful free kick against Mexico in the group stage, then created the winning goal (scored by Nemanja Maksimovic) in final against Brazil.
The youngster rose through the ranks at Partizan, before making his first team debut in 2013 at the age of 16. Zivkovic didna t have to look back after that as he became the cluba s youngest captain ever, last year, he also became the youngest Serbian to play for the national team when he made his debut in a friendly against Japan two years ago.
Last season Zivkovic made 40 appearances for Partizan Belgrade in all competitions. He scored seven goals and provided four assists as the Serbian club went on to win the league title.
A host of European club have been scouting his progress over the past two seasons and AS Roma were initially linked with a move for the winger this summer. The interest from the Italian club seemed to have cooled off presently, but two new suitors have been reported. According to Zivkovica s agent Pedja Djordjevic, both Chelsea and Valencia are interested in signing the youngster and that they are currently considering every option available.
“[Our aim] is to analyse all the options we have, and decide calmly. Valencia and Chelsea are two of the clubs who are interested in Zivkovic.” a . Djordjevic said in an interview to Portuguese newspaper O Jogo.
The Serbian internationala s current contract with Partizan Belgrade runs for one more year, and with his recent rise in stature and reputation, it seems unlikely that the SuperLiga winners will be able to keep hold of him beyond this summer.
