As England prepare to face Portugal in the European Under 21 Championship, we bring you five lions who will not only light up the tournament but are set to become household names in the next few seasons.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea FC)

The Chelsea FC central midfielder was handpicked by Jose Mourinho as one of the players to join the champion’s squad towards the later stages of their title winning campaign and the manager expects him to play a much bigger role in the Chelsea squad next season.

The powerful midfielder is expected to play a big role if England are to stake a claim for the Euro U21 title.

The versatile Arsenal FC man had a decent first season at the club following big money move from Southampton.He has already featured a number of times for Arsenal FC this season is expected to be a big part of the Young Lions set up.

Big things are expected from the former Southampton man, and, a good showing at the European U21 Championship will go a long way in meeting them.

Yet another player to emerge out of the talent factory that is St. Mary’s, the central midfield is somewhat of a dead ball specialist.Ward-Prowse had a decent season with Southampton and is expected to be the playmaker in chief for England.

One of the best players in the second tied of English football, the Championship, Hughes is a classy playmaker. It is only a matter of time before he plays in the Premier League and a good Euro U21 with England will go a long way in establishing his credentials to play in the Premier League.

We all know by now who Harry Kane is following is 31 goal season with Spurs making him the top scoring English player in the Premier League.The forward plays with a passion that reminds many of a young Robbie Fowler, who were fortunate enough to watch the Liverpool FC legend.

Kane will be determined to prove that he is no one season wonder and can display the same sort of passion and ability with England as with Spurs.
