One of the most enigmatic players to ever play for Manchester United a Luis Nani has said that he is more than open to a move back to his parent club. Nani is currently on loan at Sporting Lisbon, where he has been in superb form.

After an erratic year under David Moyes, Nani was deemed surplus at the start of the season by current manager Louis Van Gaal. Yet, the Portuguese international says he wouldna t mind going back to Old Trafford and work under the Dutchman.

Nani, in fact, wants another crack at proving himself at United where he has already spent seven years. In Lisbon, he has already netted eight goals and assisted two others in 24 games that he has played this season. And some of the goals scored by him have been nothing short of eye-catching.

With a bit of caution towards Sporting, Nani expressed his feelings towards his parent club.

a At the moment I just focus on my job here,a Nani told the Daily Mail.

a Ia ll do my best and get in the best condition I can, then come back as strong as possible and see what the manager or the club want from me.

a I love Man United. I love the club. The only decision I made to go away was to play more and be me again because I lost a lot of things there last season because of injuries and the change of the manager. The new manager didna t know me well and a lot of things changed. I needed to play regularly to be happy.

a You never know the future. It depends on a lot of things. If Man United want me to stay then, with different mentality I think we can work well next season but ita s a lot of things to discuss and see.a

United, who lost their last game to Swansea City, are locked in a five club race to finish in the top four. The team is at the moment in fourth place, but have a tough few fixtures coming up. The 20-time champions take on Sunderland on Saturday.

It will be interesting to see how Nani reacts if United do fail to qualify for the top four for the second season in a row.
