David Moyes, former Manchester United and Everton manager, appointed as head coach by the Spanish club until the end of 2015-16 season.
Real Sociedad have replaced Jagoba Arraste, who was recently sacked after the Spanish club had a dismal start to the season, by the former Everton and Manchester United manager David Moyes. Arraste was appointed by Sociedad at the beginning of the 2013-14 season after the club finished fourth and achieved Champions League qualification in the previous season. Under Arraste Sociedad finished 7th, failed to clear the group stage in the Champions League last season and were eliminated from the Europa League following a humiliating defeat to Russian side Krasnodar in August in the qualifiers.
After the sacking of Arraste, reports of the club having shortlisted Moyes, Pepe Mel and Allejandro Sabella for the position surfaced. Amongst the three, David Moyes was very closely linked with the job. Recent reports Ai??suggested that the Scot was offered a deal and the decision will be made on Monday 10th of November. Moyes has made his decision and signed on the dotted line and will be managing the Basque outfit until the end of 2015-16 season.

51-year old David Moyes had made a reputation for himself as a top-flight manager in his time managing Premier League side Everton where he spent 11 seasons as a manager and helped the Merseyside club fight above their weight despite financial limitations. Everton finished in the top six in the Premier League four times under the Scot. They qualified for the Champions League in 2005 and reached the 2009 FA Cup final, where they lost 2-1 to Chelsea after beating Manchester United in the semi-finals.
His work at Everton received a lot of praise and he was identified to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson after the latter decided to hang up his boots. David Moyes was appointed as Manchester Unitedai??i??s head coach at the beginning of the 2013-14 season. Moyes struggled to fulfil expectations at Manchester United as the club won 27, drew nine and lost 15 out of 51 matches in all competitions. Moyes was sacked by the club after being in charge for less than 10 months.
David Moyes is set to manage a club that is placed 15th in La Liga with nine points from 11 matches following Sundayai??i??s 2-1 win at home to the champions AtlAi??tico Madrid. Moyesai??i?? first game in charge is set to be the trip to promoted Deportivo La CoruAi??a after the international break.
Moyes becomes the the fourth British manager of Sociedad, following in the footsteps of Englishman Harry Lowe and the Welsh duo John Toshack and Chris Coleman.
