Brazilian defender Filipe Luis has completed his move from Atletico Madrid to Chelsea FC.
Filipe Luis was linked with the London club throughout this summer as Chelsea looked for Ashley Coleai??i??s replacement in their defence. The Brazilian left-back has now completed his move from Vicente Calderon to Stamford Bridge.
Filipe Luis joined Atletico Madrid in 2010 from Deportivo La Coruna and immediately established himself in the starting line-up of Los Colchoneros. The 28-year-old produced some consistent performance at the back and was one of the key players in the squad last season as Atletico Madrid finally broke the Real Madrid-Barcelona duopoly.
Luis formed a wonderful partnership with Juanfran, Miranda andAi?? Diego Godin at the back as Atletico conceded only 26 goals in the league. Defensively, Diego Simeoneai??i??s men were arguably the best in Europe as they went on to lift the La Liga title and reached the final of the Champions League.
Despite his solid performances, Luis was inexplicably left out of the Brazilian squad for the World Cup, a decision Luis Felipe Scolari might have regretted later on.
The left back won four titles during his stint at the Spanish club and was linked with a move to Chelsea all throughout the summer. The Blues were in the part for a new left back after the departure of Ashley Cole and they raided Atletico Madrid once again to fill up that spot in the squad.

Luis will now join his former Atletico Madrid teammates Diego Costa and Thibaut Courtois at Stamford Bridge and the fee involved in this transfer is believed to be A?16million. Luis expressed his delight at having secured this switch and is keen to give his best for the club.
