Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fernandinho has urged his club to lower the buyout clause in his contract in order to facilitate a transfer move to Manchester City.
Manchester City are keen on the Brazilian midfielder and even Fernandinho is keen on joining the blue half of Manchester. The 28-year-old has recently expressed his desire to join Manchester City in order to boost his chances of making it to the Brazilian squad for the upcoming World Cup. The midfielder believed that a move to England will not only increase his exposure but will also improve him as a footballer.
“I believe my chances of making the World Cup squad will improve if I join City,
“My exposure would be better, because Brazil is biased towards the Ukrainian league.
“What we do here is not recognised in my country. Playing in a division, at a club that is considered among the best in the world would help me get back in the Brazilian national team.
“There are a lot of people in England with good football knowledge. Those complement my skills, and motivate me to want to play in the Premier League.” ai??i?? The Manchester City transfer target was quoted in the press few days back.
But Shakhtar manager Mircea Lucescu certainly doesnai??i??t endorse those views. He believed that a move to Manchester City will be a step down in his career as he believes that the English club is not at their level currently.

Fernandinho though, is adamant about leaving the club in the summer. The Brazilian has now publicly urged the club to lower the buyout clause in his contract (mentioned above), in order to facilitate a move. The midfielder fears that his ai???dreamai??i?? of moving to another league might never come true due to this.
“The day I signed, the club’s director guaranteed me that was normal with his players, and that in a transfer, we could negotiate and reach an agreement on the price.
“I trusted them, and I didn’t think about the consequences it would bring me in the future.
“My dream is being threatened because of the high valuation.” ai??i?? Fernandinho told the press.
Manchester City are expected undergo massive changes in the summer with a lot of squad players being sold along with a lot of new arrivals. Roberto Mancini has been sacked already and Malaga coach Pellegrini is tipped to be the favourite to take over at the Etihad stadium. Fernandinho will be a good addition to the midfield, which hasnai??i??t looked at its best this season, but City will be unwilling to meet Shakhtarai??i??s current demands for a 28-year-old (who is yet to prove himself in any of the top five leagues in Europe). But with a player so desperate to leave the club, Shakhtar might have been left with no other choice that negotiating the price with Manchester City.
