Tottenham Captain Hugo Lloris Reveals Why He Stayed On In Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is one of the best in his position in the world and can have his pick of any top European club, but he recently revealed why he is content at Tottenham Hotspur. .

Tottenham Hotspur, although a top club, unfortunately finds itself in a very tough league, and on most occasions, misses out on UEFA Champions League action and trophies. One of the players who will be instrumental in changing that status quo is Captain Hugo Lloris and he revealed recently how manager Mauricio Pochettino inspired him to stay on at the club.

“I’ve flourished completely here,” Lloris told L’Equipe. “I can even say that since the arrival of Pochettino I found new benchmarks. ” [Via: goal.com]

“My second season here was complicated, I had kept a certain level of performance but collectively there were too many gaps and it had been against the big teams… I had not felt a strong club, but rather an unstable one, with a coaching change in the middle of the season, just the opposite of what I like to see in football. I was actually asking myself questions until Pochettino arrived.”

Leave it to Poch

Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino is taking Tottenham Hotspur FC to new heights and has assembled one of the best Spurs team in recent memory. Poch has also done so in the old fashioned way, not by throwing cash around and bringing in flashy players, but by giving youth a chance and this has seen the rise of the likes of Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Danny Rose and other young English talents.

Tottenham are currently in 4th position in the league table and are playing rather attractive football. Mauricio Pochettino, given time at the club, could well be on his way to taking the Spurs to the next level.
