Stoke City’s Marko Arnautovic Strong on PSG’s Radar

PSG might be 19 points clear at the top of the Ligue 1 table, but they are already looking to strengthen their squad with Marko Arnautovic believed to be one of their prime targets in the January transfer window.

The Austrian international has been brilliant this season with Stoke City, and has churned out stellar performances with quality players like Xherdan Shaqiri, Bojan Krkic, and Ibrahim Afellay by his side.

The defending French champions are said to be preparing a bid for Arnautovic in order to sign him on from Stoke, but the Potters are reportedly unwilling to let the Austrian go.

While it is not quite clear whether Arnautovic himself wants a move to the French club, he is reportedly set to meet with Mark Hughes and other club officials in order to figure things out, according to Daily Mirror.

Big paycheque or regular football for Arnautovic?

.

While it is not clear what kind of wages Arnautovic would receive if he takes the move to PSG, the Austrian is set to get a generous hike should he move to the French capital. However, with a host of star forwards already present in PSG’s ranks, Arnautovic is unlikely to get as much on-field action as he is getting at Stoke City.

Big profit for Stoke City

Stoke City had signed on Arnautovic from Werder Bremen for around A?2 million in the summer of 2013. He is currently valued at around A?3.5 million by Transfermarkt.com. While the fact that he just has another year and a half to go should decrease his price, PSG are reportedly prepared for Stoke to ask for more than double that amount, at A?7.5 million.
