“As we know with Sergio, always when he comes back from an injury he needs three or four games to return to his normal performance.

a But I am sure in the second part of the season we are going to see the real Sergio without injuries.”

Kompany out for three weeks

Meanwhile, Manchester City will be without the services of captain Vincent Kompany who suffered yet another calf injury this season. As reported by ESPN FC, Manuel Pellegrini played down concerns regarding the Belgian as he claimed that a lot of players suffer a a bad seasona due to injuries.

While Vincent Kompany is expected to be out for three weeks following his latest injury, Pellegrini claimed that the injury is unlikely to have a detrimental effect on his captaina s career.

“We hope not. We hope that this must be a moment of his career. A lot of players at some moments of their career has a bad season for different injuries. I hope this is the part of the season for Kompany and the second part he will be fit. I hope that we are going to have Kompany returning after this injury for the rest of the season.”

Manchester City have been heavily reliant on Vincent Kompany whose prolonged absence has had a detrimental effect on the teama s defensive abilities this season. While the Chilean manager publicly backed a Otamendi and [Martin] Demichelis or Mangalaa , it will be interesting to see how Kompanya s absence affects his teama s performance in the coming weeks.
