Zlatan Ibrahimovic Reveals That His Next Transfer Move Would Be “A Very Big Surprise”

Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has remained cryptic over his future by suggesting that his next transfer move will be a ‘surprise, a very big surprise’.

The 33-year-old has been linked with a host of European clubs this summer, but the Swede insists that he’s ‘very happy’ at PSG. Ibrahimovic’s current deal with the French champions expires in 2016 and his future has been the subject of much media speculation, with Manchester United and AC Milan said to be extremely interested in his signature.

I’m very happy at PSG. You don’t see that on the field? – Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The former FC Barcelona striker has hinted that a move to the MLS would interest him at some stage of his career but has refrained from disclosing any details. The 33-year-old has helped PSG to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles since his arrival from AC Milan and has scored an incredible 106 goals in 126 games. Ibrahimovic insists that he does not plan to leave the Paris based club and is content with life at the Parc des Princes.

‘Where I go next, it will be a surprise, a very big surprise.’ Ibrahimovic said in a press conference following PSG’s 2-0 victory over Manchester United, as reported by The Guardian.

‘I’m very happy at PSG. You don’t see that on the field?

‘I have another year on my contract with PSG and I am very happy.

‘Things are getting better. We are a strong team, we can do much more than we have been doing so at the moment but I am very happy.’

With the win over Manchester United, PSG claimed the International Champions Cup in Chicago. Although they suffered defeat at the hands of Chelsea FC in the previous game on penalties, the Parisians did win their first two fixtures, beating Benfica and Fiorentina.

PSG next face Olympique Lyon in the Trophee des Champions in Montreal this weekend, and Zlatan is looking to win his first trophy of the year in that game.

‘The (trophy) we won today is only for the preparation. This is nothing official,’ added Ibrahimovic.

‘This is only to prepare our condition mentally and physically for the season.

‘We have been here 15 days, played all the friendly games and now we go over to the official game against Lyon, that is the Super Cup so if we can win that one we will win our first trophy for the year, so that would be very good.’

What next for Ibrahimovic?

The mercurial Swede has attracted the interest of top European clubs including Manchester United and AC Milan as he enters the last year of his contract with the Paris club. PSG are reportedly interested in cashing in on the striker, who showed signs of decline during the later stages of last season. With the striker remaining cryptic over his future, the fans will have to wait to find out where he is headed next.
