The Brazilian attacking midfielder has been among Chelsea FC’s best players so far this season, and he was on hand once again to drag his team to victory with an outstanding free-kick late in the second half
It seemed as though it would be yet another tale of ‘same old, same old’ for Chelsea FC when Dynamo Kyiv scored a 75th minute equaliser due to some poor defensive work from goalkeeper Asmir Begovi and defensive midfielder Nemanja Mati .
Willian had other ideas however, and restored the Blues’ advantage with a stunning free-kick from 30 yards in the 83rd minute. Jos Mourinho’s men held on for what was a hugely important victory, giving them a much-needed boost after a particularly difficult week.
Chelsea FC are now second in Group G of the UEFA Champions League, three points behind Portuguese side FC Porto, and will be able to confirm qualification on Matchday 5 if they defeat Maccabi Tel-Aviv and Dynamo Kyiv fail to get a result against Porto.
The support from the Stamford Bridge crowd for Mourinho was another big talking point, with the Blues’ faithful leaving owner Roman Abramovich under absolutely no illusions about what they wanted him to do — or not do.
40,000 singing in support of Mourinho, heard by millions watching on TV – example of significant influence of match-going supporters wield.

Support for Mourinho from Chelsea fans inside Stamford Bridge could not have been more noisy or more emphatic. He seemed genuinely moved.

Not sure I’ve ever seen a show of support for a manager like the one from Chelsea fans for Jose Mourinho tonight. Can it make a difference?

It was never any other way, but fans left Mourinho in no doubt over their loyalties. That togetherness the only way Chelsea will recover.

However, another massive performance from the tireless Willian saw the Brazilian get fully-deserved credit from fans on social media, who hailed him as a hero for his match-winning display.
I love Willian. There, I’ve said it. I’ll say it again. I love Willian. Willian is magic he wears a magic hat, he could’ve gone to …

Massive win!?Y?? As for Willian, I used to say the only thing he was lacking is him not scoring enough goals.. so glad all he does is that now!
