FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi was handed the armband in the absence of regular captain Andres Iniesta, who was rested. However, the Argentina captain forgot before the start of the game that he had to take part in the customary handshake with his opposite number.
The Argentine captain, one would think, is used to the captaincy rituals by now. But the brilliant forward, it seems, was so focused on the game that he forgot to carry out the pre-game handshake ritual.

With Iniesta not getting any younger, the Argentine will have to get used to it more.
