Manchester United drew 0-0 with Chelsea FC last night, with captain Wayne Rooney winning the Man of the Match award. The Englishman was also in the centre of an incident that saw him recklessly kick Oscar, but was gracious enough to tender an apology in the post-match interview to the Blues’ midfielder.

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney was fired up to play Chelsea FC, having been dropped for the game against Stoke City on Boxing day.

.

The English captain started the game with full guns blazing, but had quickly ran himself to the ground, missing two fantastic chances in the second half to win the game for the Manchester outfit.

The game also saw Rooney kick out at Oscar, an incident he brushed off as “accidental”, before tendering an apology to the Chelsea FC midfielder.

His mixed performance on the night was good enough to be presented with the man of the match award by former team mates Rio Ferdinand and Paul Scholes, with Rooney using the occasion to apologize to Oscar.
