Former Arsenal FC winger Paul Merson has blasted the Gunners’ lack of spending following a transfer window where the club failed to make any senior outfield signings. .
The Sky Sports pundit was quizzed about his former club’s chances and Merson was quick to suggest that the club is showing a clear lack of ambition.
Fans took to social media platforms to question the club’s lack of spending. There was outrage over the news that the club knew beforehand that Danny Welbeck was required to undergo a surgery on his left knee and yet they didn’t spend the millions sitting in the bank to strengthen the key positions.
Fans have also questioned the astronomical ticket prices at the Emirates, given that the club doesn’t require the money to strengthen the squad, the millions sitting in the bank could be used to lower the ticket prices.
