Douglas Costa pulled off an incredible rainbow flick in Bayern Munich’s 3-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen last night.
Bayern have maintained their 100% record three games into the league campaign and Douglas Costa has been instrumental for the Bavarians, tormenting defences with his skills and trickery. Thomas Muller scored twice before Arjen Robben converted a penalty as Bayern comfortably cruised past Leverkusen.
The former Shakhtar Donetsk man made a number of runs on the left hand side and bamboozled the Leverkusen defence, but it was his rainbow flick which stood out during the game. The flick earned a mighty roar from the crowd in attendance at the Allianz Arena, however, the same cannot be said about his teammate Arjen Robben, who criticized the Brazilian for not respecting the opponent.
The Dutch winger reportedly said: “Tricks are nice, but belong in the circus. You can’t forget that you must respect the opposition also when the score is 3-0.”
