Chelsea striker Diego Costa was condemned to the bench by Jose Mourinho during his side’s dour goal less draw with Tottenham Hotspur FC at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Costa was presumably benched against Spurs following his spat with manager Jose Mourinho during Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. Mourinho had later come out and said that the pair made up with “kisses and cuddles”.
Although the match itself ended in a goal less stalemate between the two London clubs, fireworks exploded on the Chelsea bench after Diego Costa angrily hurled his bib in the direction of Jose Mourinho presumably because the Portuguese refused to bring on the disgruntled striker.
In his post match comments, Mourinho joked about the incident, saying, “If he wants to hurt me, it’s not with a bib”.
