Tottenham midfielder Nacer Chadli has revealed that Mauricio Pochettino’s training methods mean that everyone needs to put in a lot of effort.

The Argentine is known for employing tough fitness regimes to get his players in perfect shape for his high-intensity tactics and it has worked out well for Tottenham so far after a difficult start.

Pochettino has a full squad to choose from as his side will host Fiorentina in the round-of-32 fixture of the UEFA Europa League and Chadli feels that his side has benefitted from the gaffer’s training methods.

Chadli said, a There a lot of important and difficult games coming up in two weeks. We want to prepare ourselves as best as we can for the end of the month, to be fully fit.

“We improved a lot as a team and now you can see our fitness is very good.

a We almost have no injured players and you can see that we can fully play 90 minutes with the high tempo and that has helped us in big games.

a The staff work on that. They dona t kill us but they want to make us better and better. If you want to be better you have to work, if you dona t work your fitness level goes down. They know what to do to get our fitness up.

a Our training sessions have everything. We work in the gym, we run outside and train always with intensity. If you dona t train with intensity it is totally different.

Nacer Chadli's brace helped Spurs banish QPR 4-0

With time, technology has improved and CHadli revealed that all the players are tracked by GPS vests, a We always train with the GPS vests. They are looking at players. If someone gets tired the staff can see it on the GPS. The amount we run, they can check everything.

a Yes (it is like Big Brother is watching), you cannot cheat. Or you can put the GPS on a cat, Ia ve tried that!

a I dona t think I have ever been this fit in my career. Ia m 100% and fit. Ita s good, hopefully I can play games to get my rhythm again. Ia m looking forward to it.a

Pochettino said that the upcoming weeks will be a make or break period for his side, something that he is looking forward to, a Maybe it is yes. It is a good challenge for us, for me personally, but I feel good. I am prepared to enjoy these moments.

a We have ahead a lot of very tough games and one final. It is good for the club, good for our supporters and for our players, too.a
