Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea midfielder, Mohamed Salah, who is currently on loan at Fiorentina.
Mohamed Salah moved to Chelsea from Basel last January. The midfielder failed to break into the Chelsea setup and after spending a year in London, was loaned to Fiorentina on the deadline day of the winter transfer window. The winger has been in impressive form since joining the Serie A club and has scored four goals in 11 league appearances for Fiorentina.
ESPN reports that the wingera s performances in Serie A have caught the eye of Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino, and he is keen on bringing the midfielder back to London.
Salah, 22, failed to make a mark under Mourinho and remained behind Hazard, Willian and Oscar in the pecking order. He made only 3 league appearances for Chelsea this season. It seems highly unlikely that the Egyptian will return to Chelsea after his loan spell at Fiorentina comes to an end at the end of the season.
After the purchase of Juan Cuadrado, Salaha s chances of making the Chelsea first team have further weakened. This has resulted in various European clubs taking interest in signing the Egyptian. Fiorentina are also believed to be interested in making the wingera s loan deal permanent.
However, Chelseaa s city rivals, Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be eager on signing the winger as Pochettino is keen to bolster his attack to compete for Champions League qualification next season.
It is highly unlikely that Jose Mourinho will allow one of his players to join a direct league rival, especially London-based Tottenham. If Pochettino wishes to purchase Salah come summer, he will have to lure the winger with a highly attractive deal but it will be difficult to convince Mourinho into letting the Egypt international join Tottenham Hotspur.
