Raheem Sterling has skipped training for a second day, citing illness.
As if there wasn’t enough unprofessionalism in this saga already. The 20 year-old has kept no secret of his desire to move away from Anfield.
The Liverpool ECHO reported: Raheem Sterling has not turned up to Liverpool FC training for a second consecutive day. The 20-year-old remains at home in Southport having reported sick.
The player could be fined for his actions.
The England international told Brendan Rodgers he didn’t wish to join the club’s pre-season tour but the club insisted he had to. It was reported in May that the player wished to have his transfer completed to Manchester City before the pre-season began in order to ensure he had enough time in the pre-season to gel with his City teammates and have a solid debut campaign at the Manchester side.
Sterling would be happy to stay at the club if Rodgers was not the manager, the Daily Mirror reported.
The Reds remain adamant about their asking price of A?50m and this could be seen as an attempt to lower their valuation as City have had two bids rejected for the player. Sterling has two years left on his contract so it is Liverpool who are in the driving seat at the moment.
Of course, Liverpool fans weren’t too pleased when reports of him missing a second consecutive training session citing illness came to the fore.
Half expecting next excuse will be Sterling needs to leave because he has an allergy to red fabric and badges with birds ona

Can we just keep fining Sterling till we make up the A?10m that Man City aren’t willing to pay? a liverpoolstuff (@liverpooIstuff) July 9, 2015
If Raheem Sterling is so desperate to leave Liverpool why doesn’t he pen a transfer request rather than a sicknote..
