Argentine international Willy Caballero believes that Manchester City FC have the a massive economic powera to sign Lionel Messi from FC Barcelona. Citya s goalkeeper further claims that Sergio Agueroa s presence at the club could tilt the balance in Citya s favour should Messi decide to change his club colours.

As reported earlier, Lionel Messia s run in with the Spanish tax authorities could force him to move away from FC Barcelona. Caballero believes that Manchester City will be able to procure Messia s services should the Argentine maestro decide to leave the Catalan club.

It’s inevitable not to think about Lionel Messi at Manchester City

.

As reported by Goal.com, Willy Caballero believes that Sergio Agueroa s presence could convince Lionel Messi to sign for Manchester City.

“That subject is talked about a lot and it’s inevitable not to think or speak about it.

a And then when you think that Kun [Sergio Aguero] is at the club and he’s such a good friend of Messi…

a But yes, I understand that it’s possible, because this club has massive economic power.a

Guardiolaa s appointment at Manchester City could further encourage a deal for Lionel Messi

With Guardiola due to take over the reins from Manuel Pellegrini, Manchester City could look to sign Lionel Messi should the Argentine have an excuse to part ways with FC Barcelona. Having only recently completed the treble, it seems unlikely that Messi would want to leave the Catalan club.

However, his recent run-ins with the Spanish tax authorities could force the Argentine to ply his trade in a different country. Should such an opportunity arise, Manchester City will have an edge over other European superpowers such as PSG and Bayern Munich due to the presence of Sergio Aguero and Pep Guardiola.
