Jordan Rossiter is set to make his European debut for his boyhood club Liverpool FC, when they take on Bordeaux in the Europa League.

Rossiter is set to achieve another milestone in his career, after graduating from the academy, when he will start tomorrow for the Reds against Bordeaux, as expected.

The academy graduate revealed his admiration for Xabi Alonso and says that he has already learned quite a few things from new signing James Milner and Lucas Leiva.

Rossiter reveals Alonso admiration

a Growing up, I always admired Xabi Alonso,a Rossiter told the Liverpool Echo.

.

a His passing range, his composure on the ball a hea s someone I looked up to.

a Now ita s the same with Lucas Leiva and James Milner. They both help me a lot and just training alongside them helps my development.

a I look at how Lucas breaks up play and the commitment he shows every day in training. Hea s been playing for Liverpool for the past eight years and thata s some achievement. Hopefully Ia ll get the chance to play alongside him going forward.

Rossiter looking to repay Rodgers’ faith in him

Rossiter was given the opportunity to train regularly with the first team by manager Brendan Rodgers, and the youngster is looking to repay the faith of his manager by putting in a good performance against Bordeaux.

a Brendan just explained that he wanted me in and around the first team and that Ia d be training every day with the lads a thata s what Ia ve always wanted,a Rossiter said.

a A lot of the other young lads are getting great experience out on loan and doing really well. Ia m sure they will come back as better players.

a The manager has put a lot of faith in me and if I get on to the pitch on Thursday night hopefully I can repay that.

a I know Ia ve got a lot to improve on but Ia ll keep working hard and listening to what the coaches are asking me to do.
