Delhi Dynamos manager Roberto Carlos was “satisfied” with his side’s 1-1 draw against NorthEast United at the Jawaharlal Nehru stadium on Tuesday.

The Delhi Dynamos were the second best team throughout the contest and will consider themselves lucky to come away with a point against an excellent NorthEast United unit.

The Lions took the lead in the 37th minute after a counter attacking move saw Florent Malouda slip in a glorious through ball to Ghanaian striker Richard Gadze, who dispatched it with aplomb in the bottom right hand corner.

.

The Highlanders got their equalizer in the second half through a wonderful free kick scored by former Portuguese International Simao Sabrosa after a foul on Diomansy Kamara at the edge of the box.

NorthEast United FC will count themselves desperately unlucky to not come away with all 3 points as they hit the woodwork thrice during the course of the match through Diomansy Kamara, Jorge Fernandes and Francis Dadzie.

Carlos “satisfied” with a draw against NorthEast United

Speaking to the media after match, Delhi Dynamos manager Roberto Carlos expressed his satisfaction with a point against an excellent NorthEast United side.

“I am satisfied with a draw. NorthEast United played well. We are currently top [joint] of the league and thats all that matters,” said Carlos.

“When we are not first, we always look up. Whenever my team is on the field, they are always looking to win.”

Asked to assess his own performance on the field of play, Carlos said, “After not playing for so long, it felt good to step onto the field. Whenever I am on the field, it is easier to lead the team.”

After being questioned about players such as Adil Nabi and Gustavo Dos Santos not starting regularly for the Dynamos, Carlos angrily retorted by saying, “When the team is doing well, there is no need to change the composition.”

“The media is not aware of what happens in the training sessions, only I do.”

“Gustavo [Dos Santos] came on in the second half and played well today, just like he did last week against Atletico. He is an important player for us.”
