Real Madrid are on verge of completing the signing of Brazlian wonderkid Lucas Silva from Cruzeiro as the club has agreed to sale Asier Illaramendi to Athletic Bilbao.
Lucas Silva will replace Asier Illaramendi at Real Madrid. The management of Los Blancos, including coach Carlo Ancelotti, is not happy with the progress of Asier Illaramendi and they wanted to get rid of the player as soon as possible.
Lucas Silva, 21, is widely recognized as the most promising youngster of Brazilian football and apart from Real Madrid, host of top European clubs, including Inter Milan, Liverpool and Arsenal were interested in his signature. However, it now appears that Real Madrid have beaten the competition to get their man.
Basque outfit Athletic Bilbao have also agreed to sign Asier Illaramendi from Real Madrid for 25 million euros and the deal is expected to be announced in this week itself.
Meanwhile, reports coming from Spain have also confirmed the status of both the deals concerning Real Madrid. Spanish daily Marca has claimed in its report that Lucas Silva, the most promising young central midfielder in Brazilian football, is on the verge of becoming a Real Madrid player, with just a few loose ends left to tie up following talks on Wednesday. Real Madrid are ready to show Asier Illarramendi the door. The move for Lucas Silva can leave the midfielder in no doubt about his future prospects, although the former Real Sociedad player has been given a few days to get used to the idea that perhaps the time has come to leave.
Real Madrid tried to sign Lucas Silva in December for 10 million euros but Cruzeiroa s Alexandre Mattos blocked the deal.
However, the obstacle of Alexandre Mattos is removed now as he has joined Palmeiras. There was a meeting between the Lucas Silvaa s agent Luiz Rocha and the Brazilian club’s president Gilvan de Pinho Tavares yesterday, which yielded a breakthrough and Real Madrid consider the deal as good as done.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid are have agreed to sale Asier Illaramendi to Athletic Bilbao and the deal could be announced anytime soon.
Asier Illaramendi, who joined Real Madrid in the summer of 2013 for 32 millions, has failed to earn a place in the starting XI of Carlo Ancelotti and the coach has asked the management of Los Blancos to get rid of him as the club is on verge of signing Lucas Silva.
