Since then, Sterling has gone on to start for City in their opening day 3-0 victory over West Brom, where he made a pretty decent impression for the Citizens.

City’s next fixtures sees them take on Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea FC, who drew their opening game 2-2 at home. Sterling believes that it is important the Citizens beat them if they are to win the title this season.

The 20-year-old went onto add that he expects a close title race, unlike last season where Chelsea finished eight points clear of City without ever being troubled. He has also set himself personal goals and assists targets but is unwilling to reveal them.
