Former Liverpool FC winger Raheem Sterling has admitted he regrets the manner of his departure from the club, labeling it as ‘disappointing’.

Raheem Sterling completed his A?49m move to Manchester City from Liverpool FC this week and immediately flew over to Australia to link up with his new team mates on the club’s pre-season tour.

The player was booed by a section of crowd when he was pictured on the screen in the stadium.

Speaking before their 1-0 win over Melbourne City the former Liverpool FC man expressed regret at the way his five-year association with the club came to an end.

“Disappointed how I left.”

The winger said: a I was a bit disappointed how I left That was the main problem Ia ve had with the situation a how Ia ve left it with Liverpool.”

a Ia m good with everyone at the football club, the manager, the players and I wish them well for the new season. But it was really disappointing how it did finish off.a

The Raheem Sterling Timeline

October: Liverpool FC were due to face Real Madrid when Sterlinga s agent gave a statement that the player is attracting interest from the Spanish giants, a move that led Jamie Carragher to say on twitter and then on Sky Sports that the player is looking to get a new contract and thereby his agent is feeding stories in the media.

Between October a April: Sterling was given new contracts couple of time which he had rejected, with Liverpool FC hoping the player would sign a deal described as a incrediblea by Brendan Rodgers sooner than later.

April: The infamous BBC interview set up by his agent Aidy Ward where Sterling says he wants to leave Liverpool FC not because of money but for trophies

. May: Jamie Carragher said that a for a 20-year-old kid to be taking on Liverpool Football Club over a contract. To the pit of my stomach that just winds me up, it angers mea which led to the infamous rant by Aidy Ward who declared a He (Sterling) is definitely not signing. Hea s not signing for A?700,000, A?800,000 or A?900,000 a week. He is not signing.a Which led Liverpool FC to cancel contract talks with Sterling

June: Liverpool FC then rejected offers worth upto 40m GBP for Raheem Sterling from Manchester City

July: The player then informed the club, first, that he does not want to go on the pre-season tour, then failed to turn up for two consecutive days to the training citing illness. The player also had reportedly said to the manager Brendan Rodgers he does not want to play for him, yet another reason to force his way out and days later was granted his move to Manchester City, where he becomes English football’s first 100 million GBP man.
