. Chelsea FC have announced a 22-man squad for the UEFA Champions League instead of a full quota of 25 due to the lack of association trained and club trained players, as per UEFA Rules.
Chelsea FC have excluded their new signing from Nantes, Papy Djilobodji, from their Champions League squad having reached the limit on their a locally trained playersa quota on their submitted A-list.
The club had to chose only two out of the three players among Bertrand Traore, Kenedy, and Papy Djilobodji. They opted to chose the first two players, leaving out Djilbodji from the squad.
The omission comes as a surprise, given that Chelsea FC have long travels to Portugal, Israel, Ukraine and could have used Djilbodji in these games, unless, they plan to draft him in their league XI, which might not be entirely ruled out if he does well given the state of Chelsea FC defence right now.
The complete squad can be seen in the picture below.
